Established in 2005- DTM Autobody® has grown into one of the most recognized brand names in the automotive industry. DTM originated from one of our earlier brands- DTM Autohaus. What was once a European parts store, is now a full service body shop, specializing in custom body and paint.
Our recognition comes with the support of the automotive media. Magazine publications have continued to feature our work in magazines such as European Car, Super Street, D Sport & PAS Magazine.
– Greg Emmerson of Eurotuner Magazine – “the undisputed experts in body kit fitting and painting”
I couldn't have bad a better experience with DTM. They handled my car amazingly well. They dealt with my insurance company directly and made the process a breeze for me. And not only did they get my car done in good time, it looks better now than it
ever has before. I will definitely be back for any paint/body work in the future.
Took my precious BMW 4 series to this place. Was very hesitant due to the fact that I hadn't made modifications to this car yet, but my hesitations were easily settled as soon as I arrived. Customer service was impeccable and their knowledge of cars and car parts made me feel beyond comfortable.
The lady at the desk (can't remember her name) called us an Uber to hang out at the nearby Montebello mall. SO NICE! Gave us something to do during the 3 hour wait.
Once the shop called to let us know that my baby was ready, I WAS IN AWE at how beautiful my car turned out when we arrived. I had the chrome kidney grilles replaced with all black grilles, a carbon fiber rear lip spoiler added, along with a carbon fiber front lip. They gave tips on how to clean the parts and how to manage with my car being so low now lol. Was not disappointed whatsoever and I can confidently say that I will be back when it's time to change the exhaust out and add more mods.
The front desk ladies were super nice and well informed about what is being done. they always offered to let me look at my car during the process (which is always a good sign of any repair or body shop). Long gave me a great price also! I was also texted or called if anything was out of the ordinary just to inform me which is greatly appreciated. probably saved me some money from future headaches. now that's just the service. as for the actual work being done, i had fender flares installed with proper body panel welding sealing. i was shown their work on my car in person and everything was above my expectations. i honestly don't have a single complaint. everything was better than i expected! this will be my go to body shop from now on.
Ive been a customer of DTM for about 2 years now, they've worked on my car multiple times, and i have to say they only do an okay job. And, if you are a car person, and you love your ride to death like me, then you may want to take your car else where.
They do mediocre work for what you pay, they got fair prices, and when you get your car back, and see it at first glance, it looks decent but when you start to take a closer look you realize the imperfections. And if you know what a good body shop is capable of doing, then you probably wont be satisfied here.
Ive had them work on my car multiple times, and really i think its the little things that make a big difference:
1) they did work on the front end of my car, and I'll admit it looks good, but its still a little bulky in some places and fitment is B- at best.
2) they did work on my trunk and replaced the spoiler, and since they mask, instead of taking the window and trunk apart, i noticed the seals on my back window have some white paint on them, due to a poor mask job.
3) When they did that trunk work, (i work on my own car, so i know my way around the car), but they way over tightened my tail lights, and stripped the screws, and they replaced some of my broken clips on the back molding with new clips, but i noticed the back molding was all scratched up from them trying to take it apart, and the clips they use are cheap, and i had to break them to get them out b/c they were stripped. They also didnt put the molding back correctly so it made a rattling noise when i drove, so i had to take it apart and put it back myself.
4) The paint job they did on my spoiler was an absolute nightmare. Granted, Manny and David worked it out with me in the end until i was happy, but heres the short story:
In total they ended up painting my spoiler 3 times, count 'em THREE times.. Why? First time, jackson messed up and forgot to ask me to inspect the fiberglass spoiler before painting. So the paint job came out all wavy and completely unacceptable, he even tried to bullshit his way out and say it was supposed to look that. Second time, they painted and whoever over saw the quality control, failed big time, because the colors did not match. In the sunlight, you could clearly tell, the spoiler had a blue tint to it, instead of my frost white paint on the trunk (yes this is subjective) but jackson again told me this was the best it was going to get. Manny however agreed that the colors did not match. SO THIRD AND FINAL TIME, they did get it right, and i will give them this; they did not charge me extra for all the times i had to bring the car back.
But if you do still happen to want to take your car to DTM then i strongly suggest talking to Manny or David, they will be the most helpful and willing to work out any problem you may have if you are not satisfied with anything. BEWARE of jackson, he bullshits left and right. if theres ever a problem he will most likely tell you "its supposed to be like that" or "thats the best its going to get" my trunk was crooked and didnt close right and he told me "its supposed to be like that" he then followed with some bullshit story that when acura rolls them off the line, they arent perfect, which i know if they were anything BUT PERFECT they would be sent back to the factory. I took the car to another bodyshop to get the trunk checked, and they told me, that trunk wasnt seated correctly and that the car was previously in a wreck and the rear quarter panel had been poorly repaired and thats why it wasnt linning up correctly (not because it was supposed to be like that, or because acura makes imperfect cars. I was told that acura along with most japanese cars have such little tollerance for error or imperfection that if they were even off by a fraction of a centimeter they would be sent back to the factory, because everything will ALWAYS 100% of the time, line up EXACTLY when it rolls off the truck onto that dealers lot).
So they do OKAY work for what you pay, but if you are a stickler for perfection, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DTM AUTOBODY
I haven't had such an enjoyable experience with an auto body like this before.
I was paying out of pocket so they worked hard to keep costs down and quality up.
I had them replace the front of my S2000 and modify the hood, along with color matching the metallic paint.
It all looked factory fresh. They paid great attention to detail and turned my dream into a reality with this car.
It's like a brand new car, everyone asks me what kinda Honda is that???
